I just received word that some of my custom type treatments made it in to this addition of Los Logos. I submitted about twelve pieces and have not received an update exactly which ones but actually don’t care! Just glad I made it in. These are just a few I submitted.

I decided to put together a collection of work for 2009. I wanted to start cataloging some of my work for reference / laughs (I’m never satisfied and usually end up looking back at my work and cringing!) Not a for sale piece just my own personal history. The work is both a blend of clients, explorations and some fooling around. I have 72 Type treatments, 13 illustrations and a bunch of apparel graphics. You can see the entire spread here.

I get requests all the time for certain types of custom fonts or custom letters and they are mostly for tattoo styled letters. Each time I finish the job I evaluate if the letters are worthy of developing the font (If I or anyone else would want it in a future design). The following four are all from past jobs I have worked on. All will drop in the store soon (making over my entire site and store so the wait may be a bit)

I have received several emails in regards to the release of new stock art and fonts. First off I just wanted to thank everyone who has purchased as well as those who assist with getting it all up and ready. Second thing is you need to trust me when I say the wait will be worth it. I have several new fonts as well as stock art coming soon that I have been working well into the a.m. to ensure I deliver only the highest level of products. While you wait I decided to give you a little something to hold you over FREE of charge. Visit the FREE VECTOR section of the shop to get the skull package and my latest custom font FRESH SLICE.

I have been hard at work developing new fonts for the shop (late nights). Most should be available in a couple of weeks or so. Some of these can be seen better here. In addition I have decided to give some of the better fonts away this time so stay posted.

So I decided that it was time to take my custom fonts to the next level. This time I started with some real objectives for the font. Once built the custom font had to flow like a script font (one letter leading to the next). The second objective was to have a word or phrase appear as a complete graphic after completion. I didn’t want it to look fragmented in any respect from the flow of each letter in unison to the next or an individual glyph by itself. The last objective was to reach beyond the all caps version. In some of my recent type treatments seen here I have been refining those skills to achieve a font like this but never felt like the lettering had the potential to go the distance. As I complete any custom lettering I always ask myself “can this be a font” and often the answer is no. Most treatments I do just work for that word or phrase. I build with a narrow plan of just completing the word and never look beyond. Starting with objectives has really opened my eyes to how I have approached a “build” in the past. Moving forward “objectives” will be the foundation from which I start.
