THE 3REE

After several months of work and a year of debating I decided to ditch THE3REE and start my new company SWEYDA. A ton of details made up this decision but mostly based on the idea that I want to build a brand and not just be a “company”. In addition to the brand I also decided to bulk up the shop with a heavy emphasis on high end vector illustration and custom fonts. This will be my last post on THE3REE!

I just received word that some of my custom type treatments made it in to this addition of Los Logos. I submitted about twelve pieces and have not received an update exactly which ones but actually don’t care! Just glad I made it in. These are just a few I submitted.

I decided to put together a collection of work for 2009. I wanted to start cataloging some of my work for reference / laughs (I’m never satisfied and usually end up looking back at my work and cringing!) Not a for sale piece just my own personal history. The work is both a blend of clients, explorations and some fooling around. I have 72 Type treatments, 13 illustrations and a bunch of apparel graphics. You can see the entire spread here.

I had an opportunity to design for RED a while back. I was completely stoked to do it and had a blast designing for them. I just got an email that some of the merch dropped at Hot Topic so if you are in to good music show some love and get a shirt! You can see more of the designs here.

I have been exploring all types of new styles lately with vector illustrations. Most of them you can see here. This is one I was playing with a couple of days ago. To be honest it fell far short of the idea I had in mind (it’s actually only about 75% done here) but was an excellent learning experience. My plan is to accomplish several illustrations per month until I feel like I have found my rhythm and voice.

I get requests all the time for certain types of custom fonts or custom letters and they are mostly for tattoo styled letters. Each time I finish the job I evaluate if the letters are worthy of developing the font (If I or anyone else would want it in a future design). The following four are all from past jobs I have worked on. All will drop in the store soon (making over my entire site and store so the wait may be a bit)
